Tracing Tools - Desktop and Specialist
Jacobs have established trace procedures and specialist partners to provide the Council with comprehensive tracing services on all debt types.
This will be at any stage of the process where we identify a debtor has absconded, and where the Council may have bulk tracing exercises (such as aged arrears trace and collect projects).
There are no costs to the Council for this service.
We have a comprehensive tracing process and timeline. We do not just put a case through the trace process once, and return it back unsuccessful; we have a rolling trace programme, where cases are continually processed for up to 6 months until a successful address is identified.
We have specialist tracing companies who have been our preferred suppliers for a number of years and we have strict criteria in determining accurate traces.
A full report is provided for successful cases detailing full source and confirmation of the new address, and any other information that may be of use, including details of the new occupiers/estate/letting agents for the empty property.
The process is managed and monitored by our Operational Administration Team. All trace enquiries are carried out by trained, experienced trace operators and fully comply with Office of Fair Trading, Information Commissioner and Credit Services Association guidelines.
The team also have access to desktop tracing tools, ensuring a robust approach and maximising opportunity to make contact with the debtor.
